As business owners ourselves, we love any opportunity to build up other entrepreneurs in the Los Angeles community! One of these people happens to be a good friend of Bazzy’s: Cristina McKinnon, owner of the AR Workshop Torrance.
But first… what is an AR Workshop?
The initials “AR” originates from the last names of the two founders, Maureen Anders and Adria Ruff. Anders Ruff first began as a design company and online shop which featured a popular DIY blog for creative and hands-on crafters everywhere. The Anders Ruff DIY brand became so popular, in fact, that fans started asking for in-person workshops to learn and teach each other the tools of the trade. Suddenly, AR Workshops were opening up all over the country… including Torrance, CA, where Cristina offers a variety of AR Workshop-branded designs at their DIY workshops.
How the AR Workshop Torrance Works
One of the reasons we love AR Workshop so much is the different ways you can do it: register for a workshop by yourself, bring a friend, a date, or get a group together for a party or work event! They even offer DIY-Kits-to-Go which lets you DIY in the comfort of your own home. AR Workshop Torrance is available for almost any kind of event you’re looking for.
Once you register for a workshop, you can pick from a wide variety of projects (typically home decor), from signs, furniture, pillows, and much, much more. The best part is, AR Workshop Torrance provides all the materials, tools, and instruction you need. So whether you’re an experienced crafter or new to the whole DIY experience, these workshops will help you get the job done. Before you know it, you’ll have a beautifully unique project that you’ll be proud to say you designed all on your own.
Did you ever think you could create your own dog bed? Your pooch will love having a bed that’s totally unique to him, and you’ll love adding to the aesthetic of your home.

If you haven’t noticed by now, Bazzy’s is BIG on all things DIY, (like our DIY dog treat recipes made with Bazzy’s Kefir) which is why we love to share things like this that our friends are putting together for other dog DIY-enthusiasts.
Check out when the next DIY Workshop is available at AR Workshop Torrance, and while you’re there, be sure to ask about Bazzy’s Frozen Kefir! Cristina’s pups loved our frozen treats so much that she decided to carry them at her Torrance location. We’re so grateful to Cristina for helping us make our treats more accessible to the LA community. Thank you, Cristina!
Cristina is a career public servant with over 27 years of experience. Originally from Chicago, IL, crafting has always been her passion. She especially loves cross-stitching, quilting, tole painting, and paper and digital scrapbooking. Cristina fell in love with AR Workshop after attending a class in Arizona, after which she knew that she had found the right career—bringing her DIY and crafting know-how to the Los Angeles community. She is thrilled to offer AR Workshop to the South Bay area and loves seeing all the wonderful creations by her customers
Crristina and her husband also happen to be pet parents to two wonderful Frenchies, Laffey and Hercules. When they’re not DIY-ing at the Workshop, they’re looking for more ways to give back to the community, involving themselves in charity and volunteerism.
We love making new friends within the community. If you have a favorite pet business you’d like to see in the spotlight, get in touch on Instagram and let us know!
